| Norman Jubb - 90th birthday
May 2004
Norman Jubb retired from Provincial London (City) Office
30 years ago, and up until that time we worked together for some years
in the old Cannon Street building, in the Fire Department. As a stranger
to the London scene when I arrived on transfer from Birmingham branch,
I found Norman to be a great source of information and help in getting
acclimatised.
We have kept in touch, and my wife and I recently received
an invitation to a "surprise" party to mark Norman's 90th birthday;
he was confronted by over 60 friends and relations on his escorted arrival
to the appointed venue - and took it all in his stride, taking time to
talk to everyone individually. A happy occasion culminated in the cutting
- and distribution - of a very special birhday cake.
We wish Norman many more happy years amongst his supporting
family and friends
