AXA PROVINCIAL PENSIONERS' ASSOCIATION
6th Annual Meeting, Cambridge
18th August 2006
We held our AGM for the first time this year at the Holiday Inn at Impington
near Cambridge on Friday, 18 August.
The occasion provided a convenient
opportunity for pensioners who were previously employed at Provincial’s
offices at Haverhill, London and Branches in the South East and who continue
to live in this area to attend and meet with each other again.
Whilst
it was a little disappointing that only 22 pensioners were able to
attend, the feedback we have received since suggests that the day proved
to be
an interesting and enjoyable one for those who were there.
After receiving
the usual reports from the officers of the Association, those present
heard
from four interesting speakers: Pat Brady (in her capacity as a Pension
Fund Trustee) and David Oversby-Powell on developments concerning
pensions and the Pension Fund and Rachael Williams and her colleague Jane
Harfield
from AXA PPP on private healthcare opportunities for pensioners.
We
intend to maintain our policy of organising the AGMs in areas of the
country where large numbers of pensioners are likely to find
it
convenient
to attend. The APPA Committee next meets at the AXA Insurance offices
in Birmingham on Wednesday, 22 November when one of matters to
be decided will be the date and venue for the AGM in 2007. |
