| AXA PROVINCIAL PENSIONERS' ASSOCIATION
4th Annual Meeting, Bromsgrove
18th August 2004
The meeting takes place once again at the Hilton Hotel,
Bromsgrove. The majority of the committee were able to attend, together
with some members. Numbers this year were lower than we have had in the
past but it was an interesting and enjoyable day.
The morning session was, as usual, primarily used by
the officers of the Association to report on their area of activity, with
contributions from the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and Communications
Officer, with a report also from David Oversby-Powell on the Pension Fund.
After lunch there was a presentation by Cath Helliker
and Mark Trowsdale from Sun Life and covered the topics of Inheritance
Tax Planning, Investment through ISAs and Long Term Care. AXA Pensioners
benefit from the same reduced favourable terms as AXA staff for all investment
and life assurance etc. products offered by Sun Life. Contact details
can be found in The Pod supplement.
In his closing remarks, Brian Hodges reminded those
present that he and Derek Sutcliffe have been involved with the Association
from the outset and have both decided that the time has come for them
to stand down from their roles as Chairman and Secretary. He said that
he hoped by this time next year a new Chairman and Secretary will have
been appointed and will take the Association forward, together with the
other Members of the Committee.
We always looking for new members to come and join the
Committee so if any of you are interested, or know of anyone else who
may like to do so, please let us know.
Minutes of the day are issued to your Pensioner Contact
and a full report will appear in the next edition of The Pod. |
